I was about to order a 2022 Cervelo S5 Disc but changed my mind after I discovered that they are made in China. I did further research on this perticular model, there are many fail features that should have been exposed to the public. They use a sharp medal limiter to stop the handlbar from swinging to the frame by pining against the inner wall carbon, soon the sharp pin poking through the wall of carbon. Also, the press fit raw carbon bottom braket housing soon cracked and distorded after all that live load weight and shear stress on it. Do not trust their marketing and be influenced by the pro riders and their sponsors. Many owners and fans are in denial knownly they have paid $19000 for a junk.
i have the 2012 one bought it brand new and still use it . will not buy another bike . obviously ive upgraded it through the years but im good with it .

I've been running both my giant liv and fastroad at 120psi, is that way too high? You said you run 85-90.
A lot of design flaws with Cervélo and especially the S5. Check out Hambini's and Luescher's (sp?) videos on the engineering.
Personally I love the metal limiter inside the head tube that stops the bars turning too far, the way it impacts the inside of the tube and delaminates it is pure genius!
this frame has a massive design flaw in the steering head tube it has a steel wedge so that when the bars turn the wedge on the inside hits the head tube from inside causing damage to the laminate carbon. watch LUESCHER TEKNIC inspect this frame it is shocking

Comparing to the new S-Works Venge which is faster because Cervelo is definitely stiffer but what you say is losing aerodynamics when it comes to front and strong wind ? I wonder what is better for fast sprinting about 45km / h and at the same time on the climbs over S-Works Venge or Cervelo?

So glad they came out with this updated S5, that way I was able to get my 2018 S5 at a really good deal 🙂. When this one gets updated maybe I’ll have one of these. It’s nice to be able to see the future. Thanks for the well done video…subscribed.

7.8kg is a brick of a bike. 400g more than the Venge is uncalled for.
looks gorgeous and stiff.. but surely i dont need stiff frame.. and pricey too.. but for pro, surely they would want the stiffness
